Megaron
Greetings.
I wanted to make a small request to 24shells.
I have a private hub for my friends and the number of users almost never exceed 100.
So i thought it would be a good idea for me to have a max 250 users hub.
And it would be great also to have it along with a shoutcast server in same price we get the 500 user hub.

Hi Megaron,

Great thought but you know it is important to know about your shoutcast requirements. Since you may have noticed that shoucast servers pricing depends on the number of listeners as well as the speed at which you would like to run your stream.

Well for me a 250 user hub and a 24kb shoutcast with 25 users max at same price i pay for the 500 user hub
would be good...50 users at shoutcast would be the best wink.gif

I will be able to work out 200user HUB with Shoutcast 24kbps - 25users. Email me or MSN wink.gif

Well me personally, the 250/25 @ 24kbps sounds like a deal. Im lucky to get 10 people on shoutcast lately because not everyone has the latest version to allow the AAC stream.
This is the paradox.
good stream sound quality/ have to upgrade media player

some people are just hung on thier own player.

It would be good if we could just plug in a brain and upload thought patterns ......
Otherwise, i believe a package deal is a good idea and should be taken further.

Oh and guys, change poor Megarons name to Megatron..... hahahahha, im thinkin imposter here.

greets to all and thanks for the hard work (kev)

Tushit and I did actually toy with the idea of a combined hub/shoutcast package for the use of either playing music to your users or even bring voice chat to dc hubs. We thought we would wait and see if any interest arose and now that it has we will certainly look further into promoting such a service more publicly smile.gif

I may be interested in that deal as well. My hub is small and private too. (never more than 100 people at a time) I would be willing to pay a little more for better shoutcast B/W as well. Might start a trend...the other DC hub hosting services will be jealous tongue.gif

I know it does sounds like a good idea but I am still doing research on how many of Hub owners/users run a shoutcast radio.

If it works out I'll be the first to sign up biggrin.gif
dmaximus
How's the research coming along on the shoutcast/hub idea?
tshah
I will update this post with something by tommorow for sure.
dmaximus
Sounds good biggrin.gif Thanks for putting in the time on this idea. Hope it works out as it will be a feature no one else has.

I have come up with following plan for now :-

Dc Hub 250users + Shoutcast Sever 24kbps with 10 listeners for $25.00/month.

Anyone would like to migrate to this plan please email sales@24shells.net with your account details or login to https://center.24shells.net and submit a ticket.

Thank you

Awsome! I'm on that biggrin.gif Thanks!!
